Abuja, Nigeria– (November 28, 2016) – Today, Web Assets Nigeria Ltd, a Lagos based technology company announced it launched Hawk Eye, the first National Crime Reporting System in partnership with Huawei Technologies Company Nigeria Limited. The beta pilot will be launched in Lagos, the commercial capital and Abuja the seat of government. The company will launch its beta with the electricity industry which is experiencing serious challenges to its infrastructure from vandalization, theft of parts from its transformers and loss of revenue due to power theft.
A project that began last year with the objective of creating the first national crime reporting system for the country. Nigeria currently does not have any emergency response system in place. A handful of states are attempting to put systems in place to address this issue. The critical need for a national system was prevalent during the Ebola outbreak, requiring communication and reporting system to be in place.
Hawk Eye offers mobile app for users to report different types of crimes including service complaints. Users can select crime types, capture and send videos, images or text messages of the crime, the crimes reports are directed to the responsible security agencies for immediate response. The system offers a crime management platform with a robust command and control center dashboard to display location of crime scenes and the nearest officers to respond to the reported crime. Mobile application is available for officers in the field to receive dispatched incidents and option to file reports remotely is also available. The system provides Global Announcement feature to allow communication with different communities on National Emergencies, Most Wanted persons and other emergencies. A FindMe feature is also available for users to notify Rapid Response units or family members in the event of kidnapping incidents.
Hawk Eye utilizes location based technology to match incident location and nearest responder to the reported crimes. In addition, Hawk Eye offers robust administrative tools, provides commander across the chain of command real time visibility of what’s going on, on the ground. Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and reports allow commanders up the chain of command to view performance by State, Divisional Command, Stations and Individual Officers. National crime database and statics are created for efficient crime management and response. Other security features that protects the integrity of the system have also been implemented.

The industry need user support to arrest the issue of power shortage, close to 30% of power shortage in the country is due to utility theft, vandalism against power infrastructure and for most customers complaining about utility rates, they should look to neighbors illegally tapping into utility poles, this is a chance for each of us to become agents of the change we all talk so much about” said Kayode Aladesuyi, Chairman, Web Assets Nigeria Ltd.
