Meet Ali Freedom, professionally known as VASA, an 18-year-old sensation hailing from Benue state, Nigeria. Recently signed to Ize Records, VASA is quickly becoming a household name, captivating audiences with its distinctive blend of Afro beats and Afro Soul. In an exclusive interview, VASA shared his inspiring journey into the music industry. “I’ve always been a lover of good music, but it wasn’t until 2020 that I started recording professionally,” he said. “My passion for music runs deep; it’s not just a hobby for me, it’s my life.”

VASA’s musical prowess caught the attention of fans and industry insiders alike through his captivating freestyles on social media platforms like TikTok. VASA’s journey took a significant turn when he won a talent show at his school, propelling him further into the limelight. “My cousin, who is also an artist, and his friend, a producer, influenced me greatly. They made me fall in love with music even more,” he shared.

Through his connection with a dancer named Vickdance and his friend Junkie, he found his way to Ize Records, where he’s now signed.

With two tracks already released, titled “Bolanle” and “Teriza,” VASA’s music is making its mark on the Nigerian music scene. Despite being a newcomer, his music and videos have found their way to TV channels and radio stations nationwide.
