3Dots Review: Mungo Park, Oshe, For The Local & More

Published

1. Korede Bello – Mungo Park

You have to be enthusiastic about a jam like that, I’m sure you wud agree…. I dont want to be too harsh, but in
a nut shell, the song turned my smile upside down & made my 1 year old baby boy tear up… Whew… It sounded like k. Bello & don jazzy had a bad day on d same day, i think that was a classic underperformance by d pair & I know a few people who wud agree … I definitely cannot trust my own judgment on the production of this song cos I’ll be too biased (brutally), so i have to consult a producer i trust. Lets see what he has to say…
Larry Blaise:
It’s a nice jam, I just feel don jazzy wants to change that music style wey dey trend, To that Mungo park bounce, U knw like wen we have shokki, And Azonto… Its a good song.
Me:
Hm!!! Producers definitely see things differently….
SO to #blaisebeats

2. Del B – Oshe ft. Wizkid & Reminisce

This jam features as the collabo song for this weeks edition of “3dots critics music review”… Started a little bit slow for me, raised an eyebrow a little too early… Like most other w. Kid songs/verses lacking in terms of lyrical content but dripping with flavour (banana precisely).., w. Kid continues to remind us why he stays relevant in the Nigerian music industry… Cool hook.
Del B also makes a good attempt at making an impression as a song writer other than d producer he has previously established himself to be. I liked his composure on d song, it proves he’s an expert in his art.
Reminisce sped up the song a little bit with his rap attack. He approached the song just d same way he does every other, which seems to work for him each time. He came on stronger than the earlier 2 artists, & as always, killed his verse from d beginning to d end, not letting a bar slide… My best part of d jam… Tho each time i hear wizzy say ‘oshe’ 😏

3. Peter Okoye – Look Into My Eyes

That one took a low tempo & with d whole psquare break up saga, it was supposed to tell a touching story… But errrr… D only place it touched was my ears, not that touching in my opinion… Good song, very good production & d best thing about d song for me was the back up singers, they where great. P. Okoye should stick with those guys in his new solo career…

4. Jhybo – For The Local

Its a big wonder why Mr Jhybo continues to struggle with mediocrity, when i know undoubtedly that he is a good musician. The song ‘for the local’ features as our rap jam for the week & as i continue to listen, i keep waiting for the song to start getting interesting…sadly, it never does 😒 . There is alot of energy on the song which at certain points turned out to be unnecessarily excessive. Listen to ‘Adura Elijah’ by d jhybo & u begin to feel like ‘for the local’ was someone else named ‘ibhojy’… Get it? (Like he was a shadow of himself on that track) [ask a yoruba demon or sorceress]… One wud expect that jhybo wud connect better with listeners by now, other artistes have broken through d industry after him… If he’s taking his time, he’s taking too long…

5. K-Dream – Oil

Features as our up coming artists track for the week… K. Dreams shows some undoubted tallent on this song but definitely has a lot of room fpr improvement. Imagine it was kiss Daniel who sang that song, it cud be d next level in his career, as he’s got greater charisma on his songs & is a little more professional. K. Dreams is also privileged to be working with great like minded producers which he should stick with, as they all possess the prospects of musical relevance in d industry…. D need for all round improvement tho, cannot be over stressed….

Senegal Beats Poland 2-1 To Become First African Nation To Secure Win At 2018 World Cup

Published

on

Senegal deservedly defeated Poland in a game of few chances to claim the first win by an African team at the World Cup – although there was a hint of controversy about their second goal.

M’Baye Niang sprinted back on to the field of play after injury and immediately intercepted a backpass from midfield, beating former Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and Southampton defender Jan Bednarek to the ball.

He then slotted into an empty net – to the confusion and disgust of several Poland players, who protested in vain to referee Nawaf Shukralla.

The Lions of Teranga had taken the lead shortly before the break when a shot from Everton’s Idrissa Gueye took a huge deflection off the unfortunate Thiago Cionek.

Poland created little, with striker Robert Lewandowski feeding on scraps and heavily marked by Senegal’s huge central defensive pairing of Salif Sane and Kalidou Koulibaly.

But they ensured a frantic finale when Grzegorz Krychowiak headed home a free-kick at the far post.

The result came hours after Japan had defeated 10-man Colombia in Group H’s opening game – and there is a strong possibility that one of the qualifiers could go on to play England in the last 16.

Senegal gets Africa up and running

It was played four, lost four for the African teams so far in Russia before Senegal and Poland became the final two sides to make their bow at this World Cup.

The three north African teams – Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia – had conceded late goals in narrow defeats, while Nigeria were a poor second to Croatia.

But playing in their second World Cup, Senegal showed a passion and physicality that their seeded opponents could not handle.

Aliou Cisse’s team were wayward in their finishing – epitomised by one horribly miscued first-half strike by the lively Niang – and some of their decision-making saw good openings wasted.

But they played with great ambition and purpose and showed enough to suggest they could well qualify from what is regarded as a very open group.

Like Lewandowski, Liverpool’s Sadio Mane had dominated the pre-match billing, but was heavily marked and posed little forward threat.

But that will surely be of little concern to the skipper as his team hope to emulate the team of 2002, who reached the quarter-finals.

The use of bitcoin has become extremely popular in recent times and my people now want to invest in it. These are some of the things you have to know before you put your money in bitcoin.

Bitcoin is a type of digital currency in which encryption techniques are used to regulate the generation of units of currency and verify the transfer of funds, operating independently of a central bank. Bitcoin is now worth $4,317. Due to this, many are encouraging others to invest in the cryptocurrency. Nigerians are slowly embracing Bitcoin. In line with this, Jumia Travel, the leading online travel agency share things Nigerians must know before joining the Bitcoin train.
1. More people are using Bitcoin
Despite the fact that some Nigerians are struggling to accept Bitcoin, more people are embracing it after years of gradual growth. Hence, whether we like it or not, Bitcoin is the future and we have no choice than to use it.
2. Retailers and vendors are accepting Bitcoin
You can now pay for whatever you purchase online with Bitcoin as some retailers have made it possible to settle transactions with it. Some notable companies that accept Bitcoin include Expedia, Microsoft, Subway, Newegg, TigerDirect, Tesla and PayPal. So, do not be surprised when some Nigerian companies start to accept Bitcoin.

While many financial institutions charge you or take days to process transactions, Bitcoin allows transfers from one account to another almost for free. Of course, you must already have your money in Bitcoin form. There is no need for any middlemen. As a result, the transfer is seamless.

4. Extremely volatile
Bitcoin is still growing like earlier mentioned and there are a number of market factors that influence it. It very dependent on the rules of demand and supply. The more people are willing to buy Bitcoins, the more the Bitcoin value will increase. Conversely, if more people sell, the prices will decline.

5. Treat it as speculating, not an investment

Cryptocurrencies have a bright future as a new way to conduct commerce and business. That is not the same thing as saying that their value right now is sustainable. It’s early days yet, and, while the number of businesses accepting cryptocurrencies are growing, it’s not big enough for most of the demand to be built on legitimate trade. This means that buying cryptocurrencies is speculation, not investment. Hence, you should be willing to lose the money you invest in buying Bitcoin!
