NYSC develops software to tackle posting errors

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brig.-Gen. Nnamdi Okore-Affia, said on Tuesday that the Corps had developed a software, capable of preventing mobilisation mistakes.
Okere-Affia said that the innovation would identify mistakes at the point of entry of all corps members’ data to tackle difficulties experienced in the mobilisation exercise.
He made the disclosure during the NYSC 2013 Batch ‘C’ pre-mobilisation workshop with theme: “Appraising NYSC Mobilisation Strategies for a Better Service Delivery” in Minna.
“The ICT Department of NYSC in collaboration with the Mobilisation Department has developed new data entry software that will be used by all corps producing institutions to collate data of prospective corps members.
“This is as a result of our realisation that most of the mistakes during mobilisation of prospective corps members are at the point of data entry.
“It is therefore, expected that this new software will assist in identifying mistakes at point of entry of any prospective corps members data.”
Okorie-Affia said the new software would not be put into use until the 2014 Batch ‘A’ mobilisation exercise to enable the corps producing institutions to get acquainted with the new software.
The director-general said the ICT content of the mobilisation exercise had also been upgraded to dictate procedural non-compliance in the mobilisation programme to ensure better service delivery.
The Niger Governor, Dr Babangida Aliyu, who was represented by the state’s Commissioner for Youth, Mr Kabiru Wushishi, pledged to sustain the support given by the State Government to the corps to promote national unity. (NAN)

Nino De Brown Explores The Price Of Ambition On New Single “Money” Featuring Sholex Timbo

Published

on

Nigerian Afrobeats artist Nino De Brown returns with a new single, “Money,” featuring

Rhapsodic Records artist and producer Sholex Timbo On “Money,”

Nino De Brown takes on one of the most universal subjects in modern life: the desire for financial success and everything that comes with it. Rather than presenting wealth simply as a symbol of luxury, Nino De Brown uses the record to explore the complicated emotions behind wanting money, needing money, and understanding what money cannot provide.

The song immediately establishes its theme with the memorable refrain:

“Money no dey buy happiness, I know am

But still I want am

Money be the root of all evil, I hear am

But still I want am”

Those lines capture the central contradiction of the record. People may understand that money cannot guarantee happiness, peace, love, or fulfillment, yet the desire for financial freedom remains powerful.

Nino De Brown approaches the subject from a deeply relatable perspective, turning everyday ambitions into an infectious Afrobeats record. His melodic delivery gives the song an easygoing quality, while the lyrics carry a more reflective message underneath the rhythm.

“Money” speaks to the realities of wanting to improve one’s circumstances, support loved ones, achieve personal goals, and enjoy the opportunities that financial success can bring. At the same time, the song acknowledges the limits of wealth and the complicated relationship people can have with the pursuit of it.

The record sees Nino De Brown continuing to develop his sound and songwriting around themes that connect with everyday experiences. His ability to package a familiar subject into a catchy and accessible Afrobeats record gives “Money” both immediate appeal and a message listeners can take away from it.

Adding to the record is Sholex Timbo, a newly signed artist and producer under Rhapsodic Records, who contributes as a featured artist and produced the song. His production provides the rhythmic foundation for Nino De Brown’s performance while adding another layer to the collaboration.

Ultimately, “Money” remains a Nino De Brown record at its core an honest, melodic and infectious reflection on ambition, desire and the realities of chasing financial success.

“Money” by Nino De Brown featuring Sholex Timbo is out now on all major streaming platforms.
