Filmmaker, Kemi Adetiba, is excited as her husband, Oscar Heman-Ackah, turns a year older Thursday, June 9.

In a post shared on her Instagram page, Kemi expressed her excitement about getting married to Oscar. According to her, she didn’t get married to him because she had to but because she knew he was the one.

She thanked him for making her feel emotionally, spiritually, and physically safe. Her post reads,

”It’s my honey’s birthday!!YAAAY
Happy Birthday to the love of my entire life…
Our “Uncle Oscar” a.k.a “Uncle Oooooo” aka “Uncle Oz” aka “The Pidgin KING ” aka “Everybody Loves Oscar”.

This incredible man with the biggest heart. Thank God I didn’t wait this long to “just do it”. You see the smiles in the wedding pictures and videos?? That’s because I KNOW I did it RIGHT. I carried my head, mind, eye & heart to the market. I didn’t get married because “I had to”. I got married, bcos it was to HIM!!

I don’t just love Uncle Oz… I RESPECT him. Not because “I’m supposed to” but because his very life, demeanor, essence & incredible accomplishments DESERVE it. And it’s same everyone that he comes across. I have never seen anyone with so many incredible feats fight to stay in the shadows, just so others to wear the crown.

I look at you and KNOW how lucky I am. Plus I get to tap into your immense brilliance and rich business acumen now
And oh.. It don’t hurt that you’re, oh-so-incredibly YUMMY to look at *licks screen*

You have the biggest heart, baby and you are KIND!! SO SO KIND!!! Anytime someone new says, “I love the way he loves you so openly.” I respond,”It’s not me… That’s just how he is.” This man loves with four corners of his heart… HARD and DEEP and carries people’s matter on his head. He is such a leader, and in a service way. His entire mission is looking for a way to help or uplift another, using any and every resource he has. And even in the face of betrayal this man still lends himself.
Sweetheart, everyone is rallying around to make today special for you, because you make everyday so special for others.

On a personal note – Thank you for making me feel emotionally, spiritually and physically safe. I love you deeply, immensely… Undeniably. Thank you for always spoiling me, Sugah-Daddy God bless you and everything you touch. You will grow old to see our great grandchildren flourish♥?

Happy Birthday, BABY ♥? Signed, Your “Sweet, sweet baby”
Ps. Love those moments when we wake up, look at each other & burst out laughing cos we’re thinking the same thing… Like “Yo! We really did this thing and got married!”

Meet Queen Geradzzy: The Lagos-Raised Voice Ready to Shape the Future of Afrobeats

Published

on

Every icon starts with a single spark. For emerging Nigerian Afrobeats artist Queen Geradzzy, that moment came back in 2013 on the vibrant streets of Lagos Mainland. Watching Tiwa Savage command the stage with poise, power, and unapologetic femininity, a young Geradzzy didn’t just see an artist—she saw a blueprint for her own future.
What began as a childhood dream quickly grew into an undeniable calling. By 2019, Geradzzy took a leap of faith, moving to Lekki to immerse herself fully in the heart of the Nigerian music industry. Years of quiet dedication, vocal refinement, and deep creative exploration followed. Today, that discipline is paying off as she prepares to step into the global spotlight.

Queen Geradzzy’s music sits at an exciting intersection where classic Afrobeats rhythms meet polished international pop and R&B. Her sound is inherently versatile—catchy, sensual, deeply emotional, and effortlessly relatable.

Much like the artist herself, her music balances soft vulnerability with an unshakeable, ambitious confidence. She brings a fresh perspective to modern African pop, leading with strong feminine energy and an aura of intentional mystery that leaves listeners wanting more.

Geradzzy’s upcoming debut EP is designed as a formal introduction to her artistry and personal journey. The project captures her evolution as both a woman and a musician, weaving through themes of romantic attraction, self-discovery, resilience, and personal growth.

With her eyes firmly set on the international stage, Queen Geradzzy is building a brand rooted in memorable melodies, high-concept visual storytelling, and live performances crafted to resonate across cultures.

The little girl from Lagos Mainland who once watched her idol on screen is now ready to build an empire of her own. Keep your eyes on Queen Geradzzy—her story is just getting started.

This NNPC Retail Post Raised More Questions Than It Answered

Published

So I was scrolling earlier and stopped on this NNPC Retail flyer because it’s literally just a big question mark and a line that says “66 Reasons Why You Need To Watch This Space.” Nothing else. No context, no explanation, just vibes and mystery.

It also speaks to our Naija slang and banter (the “Omo,” “Gbas Gbos,” and “Sapa” ones had me laughing).

It’s part of their ongoing “66 Reasons Why We Love Naija” series, so it seems to be leading up to something for October 1st. What they are clear about is that you need the NNPC Fuel App to be in the loop. They describe it as fast, secure, reliable, and rewarding, and they’ve made it easy with a QR code you can scan straight from the post.

If they’re trying to build hype, it’s working on me. SCAN THE BAR CODE HERE.
