GO Africa Consult an educational arm of GO Africa, an organisation with a mission to promote a positive image of Africa, while celebrating its diversity and driving its competitiveness has announced plans to empower over 7000 young African entrepreneurs in a wider objective to engage African and diaspora decision-makers, Thought-leaders, influencers and future leaders to shape and drive the African agenda.

Greg Egharevba, CEO, GO Africa, who highlighted this mandate at a virtual conference with top African professionals in Europe and African media stakeholders in attendance aimed at flagging off The Go Africa Funded International Virtual Exchange program, noted that the economic challenges of Africa would be easily subdued when the youths who make up a sizable percentage of the workforce are exposed to more advanced methods of work and business.

The CEO explained that GO Africa Consult in partnership with a running virtual training platform The Training Class will achieve the goal by engaging 1 thousand youths every trimester in an international virtual exchange program between top professionals in Europe and selected beneficiaries in Africa

He informed that the organisation has made huge strides within its first five years of existence, explaining that in 2016 it partnered with British council in Nigeria to organise the first Made in Nigeria fair where Exportable goods and products from Africa were Exhibited for the first time creating room for investors to meet with indigenous manufacturers, moving forward they have also partnered with Abuja Enterprise Agency to organise a major MSME export promotion Fair / Training Workshop in 2017, they also partnered with the South African Embassy to empower over 25 Nigerian IDP beneficiaries on activities to mark Nelson Mandela day and then directly powered a Waste to Wealth program in partnership with Stop don’t Drop to create awareness against environmental degradational activities in the African Continent while empowering African creatives that have managed to artistically recycle waste products.

GO Africa is aligned with and supports the African Union 2063 agenda for a united, peaceful and prosperous Africa and the Africa Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCFTA) goal to accelerate intra-African trade and boost Africa’s trading position in the global market.

Qualifying beneficiaries are encouraged to adopt and co-brand their initiatives and brands with the aim of taking indigenous African products from Local to Global. There are five criteria for qualification:
 The brand should be created in Africa
 The business should be registered and trading in Africa
 The business should be tax-registered and compliant in Africa
 The brand or business should be serving African and/or global consumers
 The business should employ at least one person other than the founder
interested entrepreneurs can register by visiting the registration portal which would be activated by August 2021 and completing a short form. Upon verification they will receive full access to The Go Africa Funded International Virtual Exchange program.

“African entrepreneurs have an important role to play in showcasing and celebrating African capabilities, innovations and achievements while producing, packaging and exporting our local contents because, by rebranding Africa together we can build Africa,” he adds.

“Our teams of brand experts, research specialists and communication professionals across the continent are the catalysts for this initiative, in the hope that many others will support it.
