Guardian Music/Masterpiece Act Myro, inks a digital distribution deal with Playmode music, the latest entry in the digital music service platform. The official signing took place few days after the release of his wave making song “Scatter” joining Playmode music growing roaster that includes Sean tizzle, Shawbit, Pheeldword, Mayano and a whole lot of others to be unveiled soon.

Myro who couldn’t hide his excitement about his new deal said;

“I can see the future with playmode music, you can tell these guys are just about to revolutionize digital music service in Africa by changing the notion that music is free and creating a model that pays all even those behind piracy. They are armed with technological know-how, experience, network and most importantly strategies to reach millions of music audience and monetize contents on their platform, it’s indeed a new Era for every artist who has got good content to push out.”

To formally welcome Myro to Playmode Music was the Group’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Salam Damola who in his words He said;

“It’s a great moment as we officially launch Playmode Music and also sign the young star, despite the massive influx of artiste emerging from the Nigeria Music industry churning out mediocre works, there are some who are hell bent on churning out good music to satisfy the thirst of their teeming fans. One of such artistes is Guardian Music and Masterpiece recording artiste Myro. Myro has been a very consistent artiste, who knows what he wants for himself. We have studied his brand over the years, we have come to a conclusion that; he is a total package and a sellable brand. We are looking forward for a great synergy, that will further expose his brand and contents to millions of music audience, and as well monetize his contents.”

Mr Salam further added that;

‘We launched Playmode Music to bridge the gap between Artists and their fans, we aim to be a service that benefits both users and artists, we have been getting feedbacks from both established and emerging acts who have lost hope in digital music platforms in Nigeria, Music industry happens to be the first media business to be consumed by digital revolution, but unfortunately in countries that the industry classifies as emerging like Nigeria, piracy remains endemic and legitimate digital services struggle but a lot of streaming platforms before us have turned a blind eye to this issue that have greatly marred the growth of the industry and robbing it of  Billions of Naira annually.”

The President/ Business Development Manager, Mr. Osho Oluwafemi also disclosed that;

“Playmode Music has been able to create digital business models which could compete with the lure of online piracy, in the midst of having music everywhere for free but research has proven that people will pay for value backed with proper promotion. Value competes quite well with free on the basis of convenience, ease of use, quality of service, availability on wide variety of device and great social media service. We are currently in our 3 months trial period where artists would be in constant promotion mode, offering maximum exposure to millions of music audience who would be availed with the opportunity to sign-up on the platform for free and get a trial give-away of N2500 on the platform to buy their choice of music, this is one of our numerous approaches to change the notion that music is free and make Nigerians embrace the music buying culture. We are open to working with budding artiste and other well-established artists, we will do better than any existing digital service platform in terms of Transparency and Royalty when we eventually introduce a payment plan later in November”.
