Published

on

Celebrities, influencers, VIPs and upbeat friends and family’s will converge in Lekki on Saturday, December 2nd for the Launch party of Upbeat Recreation Centre, a multi-purpose facility and West Africa’s first trampoline park. Billed as a day of fitness and fun, the aim of the Launch is to bring people, corporate organizations and the Lagos community together in the world-class facility to have a good-time, network, enjoy great music and entertainment and also celebrate active, healthy living.

Upbeat Recreation Centre was conceived during the most recent recession period. Taking into consideration the state of the economy which also happened to be a time when the country had become more health & fitness driven there was a need to rethink the real estate offerings in the market, a need to diversify and key into the unique (to West Africa) and profitable market of recreational real estate.

The Upbeat Centre amenities include an indoor trampoline park, an outdoor basketball court, a Five-a-Side football pitch, retail spaces for lease and other fun and fitness facilities for leisure and training. Upbeat Centre is an initiative of Uraga Real Estate Limited and an expression of their vision to transform people, spaces and lives in Nigeria by offering state-of-the-art and first of a kind services to the West African real estate industry and stakeholders.

Speaking on the completion of the project and future plans for the Upbeat Recreation Centre, Mrs. Moyo Ogunseinde, Executive Director, Uraga Real Estate Limited stated, “Statistically, Nigeria has a youth population of about 67 million, aged between 15 and 35 years. Therefore a viable market opportunity existed to cater to the youth through Upbeat Recreation Centre which is truly a one-of-a-kind development in West Africa.  The quality and design of the facility include sustainability and world class safety measures as well as the various activities which set it apart from any existing recreation facility in Nigeria and West Africa. Upbeat has set a bar of excellence in the real estate sports & recreation market. In particular the availability of a world class Trampoline Park is a great opportunity for expert level and budding gymnasts. Nigeria currently participates at approximately 10% in the Olympics, we have better chances of participating at up to 50% and winning gymnastic competitions by developing and training our athletes in world class facilities like Upbeat, giving Nigeria and West Africa the potential to produce gymnastic stars.”

Uraga Real Estate is a subsidiary of the Honeywell Group with numerous successful projects, the most popular being the luxurious flagship 5 Star Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel in Victoria Island. Dr. Yakubu, CEO, Uraga Real Estate, spoke on the experience and capability of the company stating that “URAGA’s mission is to bring people together to work for a prosperous future – sharing in the collective wisdom and business acumen of multiple project partners, leading the development and management of valuable spaces and increasing the wealth and well-being of  all stakeholders. In fulfillment of our mission, Uraga Real Estate is committed to bringing people together in this unique sport and recreation facility and encourage participation in sport, develop talent and contribute to the health and wellbeing of the people of Nigeria and, indeed, all of Africa.”

Upbeat Centre has attracted endorsements from celebrity ambassadors who identify closely with a fit and active lifestyle and who have been highly impressed by the range and quality of the Centre’s service offerings. The celebrity ambassadors are Nollywood legend Kate Henshaw, TV presenter and lawyer Ebuka Obi-Uchendu and fitness guru Maje Ayida. After a pre-opening tour, ambassador Kate Henshaw remarked, “This place is incredible. Trust me it has everything from trampolines, basketball, a play area for children, rooms for parties, football and most importantly it’s family friendly.”

The Launch party on Saturday, December 2nd is strictly by invitation and the Centre will open to the general public on Sunday, December 3rd, 2017.  Upbeat Centre is located at 11 Admiralty Road, off Admiralty way Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
