1. Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has seemingly blamed victims of Lekki shootings for their fate. Tinubu queried why the End SARS protesters were at the toll gate at the time of the incident on October 20. He spoke on Saturday after a meeting with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Government House in Alausa.
2. Different videos emerged on Saturday of looting of COVID-19 palliatives from warehouses across states in the country. One of the trending videos is the Plateau’s case where heavy traffic was seen around the warehouse in the state capital, Jos. Citizens were seen on top of the roof of the building housing the palliative while others gathered around the building. The same occurred in Kaduna, Osun, Cross River, Anambra and other states.

3. The house of former Senate Leader, Victor Ndoma Egba, in Calabar Municipal Local Government Area of Cross River State, was on Saturday set on fire by some people suspected to be hoodlums. The multi-million naira building was also looted by the hoodlums before it was set ablaze. Vehicles and other valuables were not spared.
4. Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State on Saturday afternoon, imposed a 24-hour curfew across the entire state with immediate effect and until further notice. He said that after an Emergency Security Meeting on Saturday afternoon, where the whole situation was reviewed and assessed, the state government came to the inevitable conclusion to declare a fresh curfew.

5. Some angry Nigerians, on Saturday invaded the residence of Senator Teslim Folarin and carted away some valuables. Folarin is representing Oyo Central district in the National Assembly. His house locating at Oluyole area of Ibadan was burgled on Saturday and residents carted away motorcycles, fridges and television sets.
6. The Kaduna State government Saturday imposed a 24-hour curfew in some communities in Kaduna South and Chikun Local Government Areas. The curfew is with immediate effect. A statement from the Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, said the areas affected are Barnawa, Kakuri,Television in Kaduna South Local Government Area and Maraban Rido, Sabon Tasha, Narayi and Ungwan Romi of Chikun Local Government Area.
7. Defense Minister, General Bashir Magashi, has said that Nigeria can’t disintegrate because of the End SARS movement. The Minister insisted that, the nation’s unity and sovereignty were sacrosanct which will be sustained by all means. He said the government would not allow the wave of unrest being orchestrated by sponsors of End SARS protest across the country to degenerate into anarchy.
8. The Federal Government, on Saturday, assured that President Muhammadu Buhari would address Nigerians over the shooting in Lekki toll gate area of Lagos State on Tuesday.
9. Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, has said President Buhari would address Nigerians when he has all the facts on the Lekki shooting incident. This follows an attack by Gunmen believed to be soldiers who shot at End SARS protesters demonstrating against police brutality in Lekki toll gate.
10. Property including those owned by government, National Assembly members and private citizens were Saturday looted, burnt and destroyed in Calabar, the Cross River State capital as the End SARS protest escalated in the state. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) office, INEC office at Marian, State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) office, Nigerian Chronicle along barracks road, and Calabar Transport Agency (CTRA) office were all vandalised. Department of Petroleum Resources, Atakpa Police Station, NDDC office, Valuemat Supermarket, Ministry of Works warehouse, Cross River State Roll back Malaria centre, Bulavaard Joint, and First Bank 8 miles, among many others were affected.

1. President Bola Tinubu will address the nation in a broadcast today, Sunday, August 4, 2024. Mr Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, announced this in a statement, on Saturday, saying the broadcast would hold at 7am.
2. The Commissioner of Police in Borno State, Yusuf Lawal, on Saturday confirmed the killing of four persons along Baga Road in Maiduguri, Borno State during the nationwide #EndBadGoverment protest. He said Boko Haram elements infiltrated the protesters and killed four persons on Thursday with explosives at a filling station.
3. Many persons have been feared killed while others sustained injuries as hoodlums clashed with security operatives in Kano. It was gathered that Rijiyar Lemo, Kurna to Bachirawa areas in Fagge Local Government, Kofar Nassarawa in Kano municipal and Unguwa Uku area of Tarauni Local Government are the worst hit areas.
4. The leadership of the organised labour, on Saturday, warned the Nigeria Police Force and other security forces to stop what it described as a “massacre” of protesters carrying out nationwide demonstrations against hunger in the land.
5. Leading Human Rights group, Amnesty International Nigeria, has said over 50 protesters were arrested in Abuja on the third day of the demonstration against hardship in the land.
6. Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has urged the police and other security agencies to stop shooting and killing protesters demanding good governance in Nigeria. Atiku in a statement on Saturday, questioned the professionalism of the security agencies in the handling of the ongoing demonstrations.
7. Some of the organisers and supporters of the ongoing protest have set up pages to raise over N4bn through GoFundMe, a popular online crowdfunding platform. A check on Saturday showed that a total of N4.1bn had been benchmarked to be donated through accounts created by three GoFundMe users.
8. Tragedy struck again in Imo State on Saturday evening when some gunmen reportedly shot dead the President-General of Umucheke Okwe autonomous community in Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State, Hyginus Ohazurike. Six village heads from the autonomous community were also allegedly killed by the gunmen.
9. The Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh has said his men were not responsible for the death of a teenager in the Kubwa area of the FCT. In a viral video, a man claimed that police, while dispersing protesters, shot dead a teenager in the Kubwa area.
10. The Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Atiku Bagudu has said President Bola Tinubu is keeping an eye on the ongoing #EndBadGovernance demonstrations across the country.
