A France-based Nigerian talent promoter and entertainment mogul, Femi McThomas, has said that organising successful musical concerts for leading African artistes like Kizz Daniel, Portable a.k.a Zazu and Diamond Platnumz, has opened more doors to him.
The 44-year-old father of three, whose love for academics had taken him to different countries around the world including India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, China, Australia, Belgium, Russia and United kingdom, disclosed that following his collaboration with these musicians, stakeholders in the entertainment industry in Europe and other parts of the world have come to reckon more with his craft and brand.
According to McThomas, settling down in France and establishing several thriving businesses in the European country including a record label, talent, promotional and music management firms have allowed him to assist many young entertainers from Africa fulfill their potential.
Sharing some of his experiences in the industry so far, the talent promoter, who was lured into the entertainment industry by his elder brother popularly known as “Enjoy” in the late 1980’s, said that he is excited seeing some of his mentees doing exploits in the showbiz sector around the world.
He said, “To be honest, organising successful musical concerts for artistes like Kizz Daniel, Portable a.k.a Zazu and Diamond Platnumz, has been a blessing to my brand.
“But the truth is that the journey didn’t start today. I am in this space as a result of years of hard work and continuous development in this business of entertainment.
“For instance, I established a record label in 2010 and signed three artists who I financed vigorously for over three years.
“I later set up a talent, promotional, music management firm in Europe that has produced several talented superstars.
“In fact, I have solely brought many international artistes to different parts of the world for showbiz, concerts and awards. I was the main brains behind the video shoot of Azaman by Portable in Paris, France. I was the video director and stylist.
“I established Empire Global Entertainment, Paris, France, Empire Pro Services, and Empire Global LLC which are all thriving in the entertainment space.
“Aside music, I am also a financial advisor to many top individuals and firms in the industry and beyond.
“I also established a cleaning company in France, truck rentals services, oil and gas services and real estate business. M companies have grown and established in many countries including Poland, Lithuania, Guyana, United State of America and Nigeria.”
Speaking further, McThomas, who is skilled in video directing and styling entertainment stars, said that the difficulties he encountered as a growing young man has helped prepare him for the success he is enjoying today.
“We didn’t get here by accident. Everything I have achieved has been as a result of God’s grace and real hard work.
“My elder brother popularly known as “Enjoy”, played a major role in my development as an entertainment guru.
“Many young people have become brilliant entrepreneurs through my ideas and mentorship and I am happy for them.
“My love for entertainment made me resign my appointment as international admission officer of a private university in France to establish my own businesses. I am happy I took that bold step,” he added.
