Official Biography: J TOOLZ, the Multi-talented Taking on the World

Published

on

J TOOLZ is a US-based Afrobeat artist whose sound is deeply rooted in rhythm, resilience, and real-life experience. Born Iyaomolere Samuel Adebayo in Ondo State, Ilaje Ese-Odo Local Government, Nigeria. J TOOLZ represents a powerful blend of coastal heritage and urban Lagos street culture.

He grew up between Mile 12 and Ketu, Lagos, environments that exposed him early to the raw energy of street life, community struggle, and music as a form of escape and expression. From as young as 10 years old, J TOOLZ discovered his passion for music, not just as a listener but as a creator. He began his musical journey as an instrumentalist, mastering the drum set, talking drum, conga, and other percussion instruments. Rhythm became his first language, shaping the unique Afrobeat pulse that defines his sound today.

J TOOLZ attended Ayedere Ajibola High School for his secondary education, where his love for music continued to grow alongside his personal development. Music was more than entertainment for him it was therapy, identity, and purpose. Through sounds and melodies, he found a way to express emotions, tell stories, and bring out the best parts of himself.

In February 2018, driven by the desire for a better future and global exposure, J TOOLZ relocated to the United States in search of greener pastures. While adapting to a new environment, he balanced survival with ambition. He currently works as a field technician in the US and is also actively involved in the transportation business, demonstrating his strong work ethic and entrepreneurial mindset.
Life took a painful turn in 2019 with the loss of his mother a moment that deeply shaped his artistry and outlook on life. Her passing added emotional depth to his music, reinforcing his commitment to creating sounds that are honest, soulful, and meaningful. His father remains alive and continues to be a source of strength.
Beyond music and work, J TOOLZ is a proud single father to 8year old twins a boy and a girl who serve as his biggest motivation. Fatherhood has further grounded him, inspiring him to chase excellence, stability, and legacy.

Today, J TOOLZ stands as a true representation of the modern Afrobeat artist: culturally rooted, globally positioned, and spiritually driven. His music reflects his journey from Ondo State to Lagos streets, from drum rhythms to vocal expression, from Nigeria to the United States. For J TOOLZ, music is life it brings him alive, tells his story, and allows him to express himself beyond words.
He continues to build his sound, brand, and impact, staying committed to authenticity, rhythm, and growth one beat at a time.
