GLOxTheVillageHeadmaster Episode 34…Difficult Times

Published

on

It’s another episode of the Globacom-sponsored drama series, The Village Headmaster and chaos seems to be the order of the day.

The reign of the acting Kabiyesi, Chief Dagbolu, has created difficult situations for the people of Oja Village with his strict rules and demands. In addition to the tributes to be paid on goods sold, Chief Dagbolu instructed Chief Fadele to impose duties on property owned by the people. The enforcement of these new tributes and laws raised concerns among the people, especially as properties were closed or branded as illegal for failing to pay up. Mazi Chinedu, whose shop was also tagged as illegal, approached the acting Kabiyesi to air his grievances. But will Chief Dagbolu address his case in a favourable manner or enforce the punishment for those who refuse to pay the tributes?

It appears that Mazi Chinedu is not the only one enraged by the outcome of events in Oja Village, following the imposition of the tributes. The market women decided to hold a meeting with Iyaloja to talk about their challenges with the new laws, while threatening to leave Oja Village, for another village with flexible rules.  Iyaloja consulted with Iyalode on the steps to be taken to prevent further chaos among the women in the village. Iyalode seems to have an idea up her sleeve, but will this help to resolve the current situation? Or will she plead for their patience till Kabiyesi returns?

Even with the current challenges in Oja Village, Madam Folake seems to have done a wonderful job of buttering up Teacher Ese, convincing her that the pageant was reputable and she would not have to showcase her body. Before making a final decision however, Teacher Ese decided to seek counsel from her father, the headmaster and Doctor Kunle. Will they support her participation in the pageant? Will her participation be met with opposition from different parties?
