Five Years of Creating Space: Mavin Records Marks International Women’s Day with Annual Mentorship Mixer and Week of Activations

Now in its fifth consecutive year, Mavin’s IWD programming continues to provide women across industries with meaningful access to community, mentorship, and professional growth.

Mavin Records, Africa’s foremost music and entertainment company, has once again affirmed its commitment to the advancement of women with the return of its International Women’s Day (IWD) programming- now entering its fifth year. What began as a singular gesture of solidarity has grown into one of Nigeria’s most anticipated annual spaces for women to learn, connect, and lead: the Mavin IWD Mentorship Mixer.

A Week Built for Women, Across Every Lane

The week’s activations kicked off with an energising fitness event held in collaboration with Pocari Sweat, drawing over 50 women who came ready to move, connect, and start the week with intention.

Programming continued with a hands-on makeup masterclass in collaboration with BeautybyTejj, celebrating self-expression and the artistry that lives at the intersection of beauty and confidence. The session welcomed women eager to develop a craft while deepening their sense of self- a reminder that creative education takes many forms.

The Annual IWD Mentorship Mixer

The centrepiece of Mavin’s IWD week remained the Annual IWD Mentorship Mixer- a curated gathering that brings together women from diverse professional disciplines for structured mentorship workshops and intentional networking.

Now in its fifth edition, the Mixer continues to reflect Mavin’s belief that sustainable impact is built through relationships- and that access and education, when done well, is one of the most transformative investments a community can make in its women.

“At Mavin, we don’t mark International Women’s Day once and move on. We build. Every year, this week is our commitment made tangible — to women who are learning, leading, and daring to take up more space. Five years in, that commitment has only deepened.”

-Jennifer Imion (VP, Operations at Mavin Records)

From the fitness floor to the mentorship room, Mavin’s 2026 IWD programming encapsulated what five years of consistency looks like: not a campaign, but a culture. A company that doesn’t just produce music that moves people — but builds spaces where women can move forward.
