British media personality, Piers Morgan has knocked ITV after the television station issued a statement saying that there are ‘no current plans’ to bring him back to Good Morning Britain after he was cleared by Ofcom over his comments about Meghan Markle.
Morgan has quit GMB after being heavily criticised for his remarks about the Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey, when he expressed doubt over her claim that she suffered suicidal thoughts.
It was reported at that time that the media personality ‘refused to apologise to Meghan on-air’, with sources claiming his refusal to apologise was the reason for his abrupt exit.
In its 97-page ruling, UK media regulator, Ofcom said that while Piers’ comments on Meghan did not breach the broadcasting code, the remarks were ‘potentially harmful and offensive’.
The statement read;
“This interview became a major international news story and we acknowledged it was both legitimate and in the public interest for ITV to broadcast debates featuring presenters such as Mr Morgan scrutinising those allegations including the veracity, timing and possible motivations of the claims.
“Consistent with the right to freedom of expression, broadcasters can portray strong views on the matter, including views casting doubt on the claims made.
“Ofcom is clear that, consistent with freedom of expression, Mr Morgan was entitled to say he disbelieved the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s allegations and to hold and express strong views that rigorously challenged their account.
“The Code allows for individuals to express strongly held and robustly argued views, including those that are potentially harmful or highly offensive, and for broadcasters to include these in their programming.
“The restriction of such views would, in our view, be an unwarranted and chilling restriction on freedom of expression both of the broadcaster and audience.
“This was a finely-balanced decision. Mr Morgan’s comments were potentially harmful and offensive to viewers, and we recognise the strong public reaction to them.
“But we also took full account of freedom of expression. Under our rules, broadcasters can include controversial opinions as part of legitimate debate in the public interest, and the strong challenge to Mr Morgan from other contributors provided important context for viewers.
“Nonetheless, we’ve reminded ITV to take greater care around content discussing mental health and suicide in future.
“ITV might consider the use of timely warnings or signposting of support services to ensure viewers are properly protected.”
After Ofcom announced that he has been cleared, Morgan shared a tweet asking if he will be getting his job back. He wrote;
“I’m delighted Ofcom has endorsed my right to disbelieve the Duke & Duchess of Sussex’s incendiary claims to Oprah Winfrey, many of which have proven to be untrue.
“This is a resounding victory for free speech and a resounding defeat for Princess Pinocchio. Do I get my job back?”
Amid speculations that the watchdog’s ruling could result in Piers eventually going back to GMB, the broadcaster released a statement saying it accepted Piers’ decision to leave the programme, but will continue to work with him on Life Stories.
ITV also said that it welcomed the ruling from Ofcom that Piers’ remarks on GMB did not break broadcasting guidelines.
The statement read;
‘We welcome the Ofcom ruling that Good Morning Britain did not breach the broadcast standards relating to harm and offence.
‘The ruling sets out clearly that it was the balance and context the programme makers provided which was key in mitigating against the potential for harm and offence which could have been caused by Piers Morgan’s comments.’
ITV added that it was ‘because of the programme’s editorial decisions and the opposing viewers which were forcefully expressed by other presenters and guests, that the programme did not breach Ofcom’s rules’.
Morgan however accused the broadcaster of giving a different interpretation to his clearance by Ofcom. He wrote;
‘Hmmm, ITV have just put out a statement saying I only won the ?@Ofcom case against Princess Pinocchio because my colleagues expressed different opinions to mine. That’s not what the ?@Ofcom report says in its conclusion. I suggest ITV reads it again.’
The media personality also took a dig at Meghan Markle, while promoting himself as a nominee at this year’s National Television Awards.
He added;
‘I imagine the only thing that could irritate Princess Pinocchio more than me winning my ?@Ofcom case against her would be me winning Presenter of the Year at this year’s National TV Awards…. So vote away!’

Chinwe Zoe, a Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter, began recording music in December 2025 after years of singing in church and at home. Less than a year later, she has released three singles, including “Chinwendum”, featuring gospel singer Frank Edwards, “Undeniable” and “Jesus Don Win”, her October 2026 release produced by Masterkraft.
For Zoe, the decision to record was connected to a personal experience that changed how she viewed her life and faith. She has described it as a near-death experience that left her with a renewed sense of gratitude. “In that moment, when I thought it was over, God showed me mercy,” she said. “He gave me victory. And that victory was too loud to keep inside.”
Her debut, “Chinwendum”, was released in December 2025 with Frank Edwards featured on the record. She followed it with “Undeniable” on May 7, 2026. The song’s official video has recorded more than 460,000 views on YouTube. In October, she released “Jesus Don Win”, produced by Masterkraft, with a video directed by Avalon Okpe.
Zoe’s approach to songwriting draws on personal experiences and scripture. She has said that she does not begin the process by searching for a melody, but by waiting for a message that she can develop into a song. She describes a process in which an experience or scripture stays with her until it takes musical form. The melody follows, and she hums it before committing anything to writing.
Her guiding principle is that a gospel song should be accessible to listeners while remaining suitable for congregational worship. “It should be simple enough for a child to sing and strong enough for a choir to carry,” she said.
Zoe has identified CeCe Winans, Nathaniel Bassey and Dunsin Oyekan among the musicians whose work has influenced her. She sings in English and Igbo, and occasionally in Pidgin, drawing on the worship tradition in her musical expression.
“Every song I sing comes from a place I have lived,” she said. “My pain taught me how to worship, my joy taught me how to praise.”
Her music has also begun attracting an online audience. Her YouTube channel has recorded more than 627,000 views across nine videos, while her Spotify monthly listeners have been reported at approximately 6,500. Her Audiomack profile is verified. Zoe records under her own imprint, H2 Records, with distribution through ONErpm. She made her first public performance at the 2026 Annual Virtuous Women Network conference in Enugu, where she performed “Undeniable”.
Outside music, she has spoken about her interest in soul winning and described it as connected to her musical work. She has also said that she wants her songs to encourage listeners facing difficult circumstances. “I want my songs to shift mindsets from worry to worship,” she said. “Whenever anxiety comes, whenever life tries to make you feel small, I want you to hear my sound in your spirit and declare victory over your life.”
