Mojo Records Showcases Edo Pride in New Release ‘Edo’Odion’ Featuring Mojo Thomps
In a powerful celebration of heritage and melody, MOJO Records has released a brand-new single titled “Edo’Odion,” featuring none other than the label’s founder, Mojo Thomps. More than just a song, this track is a cultural statement, proudly centered on the vibrant spirit of Edo State.
A unique entry in the MOJO Records catalog, “Edo’Odion”—which translates to “Edo is Senior” or “Edo is First”—highlights the identity and pride of one of Nigeria’s most historic regions. Though not a traditional recording artist, Mojo Thomps steps into the booth as a cultural figurehead, lending his voice to a project that speaks to community, pride, and joy.
“It’s not about me being an artist,” says Mojo Thomps. “It’s about giving life to a vibe that already lives in our people. Edo is home—and this record is a toast to that energy.”
Driven by melodious instrumentation and Afrobeats grooves, the record is lighthearted, catchy, and meaningful. It stands as an expression of local pride while remaining accessible to a global audience seeking authenticity and soul.
“Edo’Odion” is currently streaming across all major platforms.
