University of Ilorin Gets New Vice Chancellor

The authorities of University of Ilorin,in kwara state Monday announced the new vice-chancellor for the university in the person of Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem.

The new Vice chancellor is widely known to be a thoroughbred administrator and academician with very impressive credentials.

The Pro-chancellor and Chairman‎ of the governing council of the university, Dr Abdullahi Jibril Oyekan made the announcement at a press conference in the university.



According to him, the new appointment of another five years for the newly appointed vice-chancellor take effect from 16th October 2017.

Recall that the tenure of the five year term of the outgoing vice chancellor Professor Abdulganiyu Ambali will end in 15th October 2017.

Vanguard reliably gathered that the newly unveiled vice-chancellor,Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem born on 21st January 1954 at Oro in Irepodun local government area of kwara state‎ clinched the plum job among other aspirants who also parade incredibly coloured credentials because he has held the post of a vice-chancellor of a university which any other aspirant never had.

Between June 2010 to June 2015 Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem was the vice-chancellor of Al-Hikmah University,a popular private faith based university‎ also in ilorin.

Similarly, in the university of ilorin where he was before the latest appointment,Professor Abdulkareem was the Director SIWES from 2000-2008;Head,University admissions unit 2006-2009,Deans Students affairs 2008-2010 and Director, Laboratory-To-Product Centre from September 2015 till date.
