The Nokia 3310 Is Set For Re-Release

While most of us are busy with the iPhone vs. Android argument, Nokia wants us to kick it old school.

At yesterday’s Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, Nokia revealed their reboot of the classic 3310 model.

Originally released in 2000, the Nokia 3310 was pretty much indestructible. It also gave us endless snap-on case options and bragging rights about how you were a beast at Snake.

Of course, the 2017 version has quite a few upgrades – color screen, 2-megapixel camera, and a headphone jack; but, it’s still serving up serious 2000’s nostalgia.

Don’t get it twisted though, Nokia didn’t release this with intentions of trying to compete with smartphones. Retailing at about $52, the device is designed to appeal to customers who may not be able to afford a smartphone, those who yearn to return to the simpler “dumb phone” days, or as a starter phone for kids.

But let’s be real, this has “trap phone” written all over it. It won’t be long after it’s second quarter release that we hear it named dropped on a hip hop record.
