French side AS Monaco have denied reports that they agreed to sell Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid for a world-record fee.

News reported earlier today, per MARCA that both clubs had agreed a record £161m (€180m) transfer fee for the sale of Mbappe.

It was claimed that Real will pay an initial £134m (€150m) with a further £27m (€30m) in incentives.

The principality side have however told Sky Sports that reports of the sale are wrong as they have not agreed to sell the player.

The current world record fee paid for any player was the £93.25m fee (€110m at the time) Juventus received from Manchester United for Paul Pogba last summer.

The 18-year-old forward scored 26 goals and added eight assists last season as Monaco were crowned Ligue 1 champions and advanced to the last four of the Champions League.

Mbappe became the second youngest player to play for France (behind Maryan Wisnieski) when he made his debut against Luxembourg in March, aged 18 years, three months and five days old.
